I'm one of those people that can read three or more thick books a day if I have the time or the interest in the book. My problem is finding the time between all the running around I have to do most of the time.

Depends on the book and how much free time I have. I've been known to clear a book in one sitting on several occasions.

I find it overly pretentious when people call themselves "Lady _________." My username would just have been "Dryad," had that not been taken and were I not unoriginal in picking names for things.
By no means do I consider myself "Lady" anything.

As a few others have said, it depends upon the time available and the type of book. For the last 8 weeks I have been on a one book per week schedule. I am reading fiction and since I work fifty hours a week I only have an hour or so in the evening to read. While on vacation in July I read one book in a day... with the entire day pretty much devoted to reading.

It depends on the book, if it's catching my attention, I can have it done in about two days. I'm a average reading, each month I read about two to three books.

it depends on how well the book is written, and how interesting it is. poorly written books go faster. if the book is boring, it goes slower. etc.
the last harry potter book took me under 8 hours to complete.
I like to read cutesy girly novels (like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, or the Shopaholic series), and can usually get through a few of those in a day if i've got nothing else to do.
Stephen King novels tend to take me longer to read, because they are more detailed, and slower paced (except the short stories, of course), and it usually takes me a few days to get through one.
Mostly, it depends on how much free time I have, and if I get around to going to the library. If I've got several books on hand, I'll read them quicker. but I don't tend to buy books, and my library trips average about once a year lately.

Does anyone else find that clogged sinuses impair your reading speed? I've been stuck on the same two books for two weeks because of my clogged sinuses I keep reading sentences twice, or three times... (Stephen King and A collective bio of Australia's most notorious female criminals.)

Thomas More translation
Beyond all others she
was famed for beauty, and the envious hope
of many suitors. Words would fail to tell
the glory of her hair, most wonderful
of all her charms--A friend declared to me
he saw its lovely splendour. Fame declares
the Sovereign of the Sea attained her love
in chaste Minerva's temple. While enraged
she turned her head away and held her shield
before her eyes. To punish that great crime
Minerva changed the Gorgon's splendid hair
to serpents horrible. And now to strike
her foes with fear, she wears upon her breast
those awful vipers--creatures of her rage.

it depends on the book, I can read a good airport novel in a day (unless more than 800 or so pages) for heavier subject matter I tend to read slower to process everything.

Yes, actually. I get sick and think to myself, oh, I'm going to lay in bed and read. Except I climb into bed and mostly just lay there and whine occasionally.

As for me, I can read...er...3 books in a day if there's nothing else to distract me.
